How do I create a register?

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of creating your first register using BuildPass.

Step 1: Accessing the Registers Module

  • Once you are logged into your BuildPass account, navigate to the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • Look for the "Registers" module and click on it to open it.

Step 2: Viewing Existing Registers

  • Within the Registers module, you will find a list of registers that have already been created.
  • It's possible that you may see no registers listed if you haven't created any yet.

Step 3: Creating a New Register

  • To create a new register, click on the blue "Create Register" option.

Step 4: Naming Your Register

  • A dialog box will appear, prompting you to name your register.
  • Enter a suitable name for your register, such as "RISC Register" or any other relevant title.

Step 5: Automatic Identification

  • BuildPass will automatically assign a number and a unique identifier to each item within the register.
  • This feature helps you track and identify specific items associated with the register.

Step 6: Register Settings

  • The register settings allow you to define the availability and assignment options for the register.
  • You can choose whether the register will be available for specific projects or all projects (default option).
  • If needed, select the checkbox and specify the projects where the register should appear.

Step 7: Assignment Options

  • Determine whether each register item can be assigned to multiple projects or restricted to a single project.
  • For example, an asbestos register might be relevant to a single project, while an asset register could be assigned to multiple projects.

Step 8: Additional Options

  • Explore other options available for your register, such as enabling checklists for item assignments.
  • Checklists are useful for registers like a plant register, where an induction checklist can be associated with each item.
  • You can also specify assignees for registers where different individuals are responsible for each item.
  • Follow-up dates can be set to track required actions for registers like an activity register.
  • Unique identifiers can be enabled if you want each register item to have a numbering system.

Step 9: Finalising the Register Creation

  • Once you have configured all the desired settings, click on the "Create Register" button.
  • Your register will be created, and you can start adding items relevant to your register.

Conclusion: Congratulations! You have successfully created your first register in BuildPass. Now you can begin organising and managing your items or assets more effectively.
