How to trigger an emergency event

The BuildPass Emergency Module allows you to notify workers on site of an emergency, deliver instructions and complete a roll call to confirm all workers are safe

1. Accessing the Emergency Evacuation Module

  • Launch the BuildPass admin application on your comouter or mobile device.
  • Go to the 'Safety' menu within the app.
  • Choose the 'Emergency' option to view the current status. Initially, it should show no active emergencies and display the number of workers currently on site.

If you can't see the 'Emergency' option, please reach out to BuildPass support.

2. Creating an Emergency Alert

  • Click on the option to create a new alert.
  • Enter the type of emergency (e.g. fire) and provide clear evacuation instructions (e.g., "please evacuate to muster point").
  • Press 'Create Alert' to send out notifications. You will be asked to confirm that you want to notify all workers. Upon confirmation, the emergency will switch to an "ongoing" state until it is resolved

3. Marking Workers as Safe

  • The system allows you to mark workers as safe, similar to calling a roll call.
  • Workers can also acknowledge their safety using the text message sent to their mobile phone

4. Resolution

  • Once all workers are accounted for and safe, you can update and resolve the emergency from the emergency page. This action concludes the ongoing evacuation procedure.
