How do I send a defect to the assignees?

In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to send defects in BuildPass. Sending defects is an important process to ensure that issues are addressed by subcontractors.

Step 1: Accessing the Defects Page

  • Log in to your BuildPass account.
  • Navigate to the defects page.

Step 2: Identifying Defects

  • On the defects page, you will see defects highlighted in yellow, indicating that they are yet to be sent.
  • Scroll down to view the remaining defects, which are displayed in white.

Step 3: Sending New Defects

  • If you are ready to send all the highlighted defects, click on the "U and send" button located at the top.
  • This will send the defects to the subcontractors for action.

Step 4: Sending a Single Defect

  • If you want to send only one defect, refresh the defects page and remove any filters.
  • Click on the specific defect you wish to send.
  • Choose the option to send one defect.

Step 5: Resending Defects

  • If you need to resend a defect that was previously sent, select the defect(s) from the list.
  • Even though the defect(s) have already been sent, the system will still provide the option to resend them.
  • This can be useful if subcontractors missed the defect or have not taken appropriate action.

Step 6: Sending and Resending Simultaneously

  • To send multiple defects, including both new and previously sent ones, select the desired defects.
  • Click on the "Send X defects" button, where X represents the number of defects selected.
  • You may be prompted to confirm whether you want to include previously sent defects.

Step 7: Confirmation and Status Update

  • Once the defects have been sent, they will appear at the top of the defects list.
  • A microphone icon will indicate that the defects have been recently sent.
  • The status of these defects will be listed as "in progress," indicating that they are awaiting a service response.

Sending defects in BuildPass is a straightforward process that ensures timely communication with subcontractors and helps resolve construction issues. By following the step-by-step guide outlined in this article, you will be able to send new defects, resend previously sent defects, and manage the status of defects effectively.
